    RALEIGH, N.C. (December 10, 2016) - Nearly 800 Wake Tech students received degrees and diplomas today, in preparation for entering the workforce or continuing their studies at a four-year institution. Two ceremonies were held, at 9:00 a.m. and at noon, in the gymnasium on Main Campus. 

    Kenneth Eshenbaugh was the commencement speaker at the 9:00 a.m. ceremony. He graduated with an AAS degree in Business Analytics – which he adds to a bachelor’s and a master’s degree!     RALEIGH, N.C. (November 30, 2016) - A team of Wake Tech students beat university competitors – some of them grad students – from Duke, UNC, NC State, and NC Central in an IT competition sponsored by the International Association for Software Architects (IASA). The “Student Architecture Showdown” took place on September 22 at the association’s annual conference in Raleigh. Wake Tech students Brian Coe, Chris Eissens, Stephen Jamieson, and Jamek Melvin made up the winning team.

    RALEIGH, N.C. (April 19, 2016) – There’s a new effort by two local firms to help graduates of the Vernon Malone College and Career Academy pursue higher education. Holt Brothers Construction and S&ME Engineering are establishing scholarships that will enable VMCCA graduates to earn a college degree at Wake Tech Community College. Both firms wanted to inspire students to work toward rewarding careers while supporting Wake County Public Schools and Wake Tech.

    RALEIGH, N.C. (April 13, 2016) - Some of Wake Tech’s best and brightest were inducted into the Beta Alpha Zeta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. The international honor society for two-year colleges offers opportunities for scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship for students. Seventy students in Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degree programs were inducted in a ceremony that featured Wake County Commissioner Sig Hutchinson. His reinforced the importance of being kind to others: “The greatest gift we can give someone is our complete and full attention.”

    RALEIGH, N.C. (April 10, 2016) - Hundreds of high school students, parents, and educators gathered on two Wake Tech campuses today for the college’s annual Open House events. School guidance counselors and administrators also attended, along with professionals interested in new career options and others from the community. The events took place on Wake Tech’s Main and Perry Health Science campuses. Both offered tours and opportunities to learn about the courses, programs, and support services Wake Tech offers.
