SunTrust Scavenger Hunt Winner 2014-2015
For the third year, The Center for Financial Education at Wake Tech Community College held its financial scavenger hunt. The online scavenger hunt, designed to teach students how to build a sound money management foundation launched in April, for National Financial Literacy Month.
Five students from Wake Tech’s multiple campuses endeavored to win a Samsung Galaxy 4 Tablet by playing the 6-question reality based money management game. Those that visited the financial education booth during the school’s annual spring fling at the Northern, Perry Health Sciences and Main campuses received a hint that could help them with their hunt.
Due to generous support from The SunTrust Foundation and with its programmatic partner, the National Financial Educator’s Council, The Center for Financial Education at Wake Tech Community College launched in winter 2012. The mission is to offer money management programs that financially empower students, staff, and the community alike.
Through the 2014-2015 academic year, the Center has offered twenty-one informative financial education workshops and activities to students’ campus wide in classrooms and at special events. Campuses received a hint that could help them with their hunt.
