Introduction to Personal Computers
This course is designed to teach novices the concepts and vocabulary necessary for them to have a solid basis for understanding computers and to learn more on their own or in subsequent classes. This slow-paced course will start at the beginning for students completely unfamiliar with computers. It will concentrate on the hardware of computing – the PC itself – and on the software necessary to make it all work. Gain a comfort level with computers and the language of computers. Practice skills with the mouse, the keyboard and disk drives. Become familiar with the hardware in a computer and the various components inside the case. Become knowledgeable about how computers communicate. Get an introduction to operating systems, especially Windows, to prepare you for continuous learning in the future. 48hrs.
This course is designed to introduce you to touch typing using a computer keyboard. This technology is based on type on the keyboard without using the sense of sight to find the keys. The course contains versatile lessons, each designed to focus on specific problem areas to increase typing speed, the precision, and work their strong and weak points of the typing. Develop techniques and basic skills of touch for the alphabet and symbols in a regular keyboard and a numeric keypad. Develop basic touch techniques and stroking skills for alphabetic and symbol keys. Keyboarding is a prerequisite for efficient and comfortable use of any computer applications. Also you will learn the basic skills of how to create and edit a document in a word processor and create and send an email. 48 hrs.
Microsoft Office Applications
Excel: Introduction and Intermediate
This class uses a variety of hands- on exercises and supervised classroom work. Introduction covers basic worksheet, workbook management, and formatting a worksheet. Prerequisite:Introduction to Personal Computers or similar experience. Please bring a Memory Stick to the first class for saving student data. 48 hrs.
Word: Introduction and Intermediate
Learn to create newsletters, brochures, research papers, and other documents and enhance them using different formatting techniques. Topics include editing, mail merge, tables, macros, and forms. Please bring a Memory Stick to the first class for saving student data. Prerequisites: Introduction to Personal Computers or similar experience. 48 hrs.
Microsoft Office for the Administrative Assistant Level I
This course provides the computer, office, and interpersonal skills for employment as an administrative assistant. Students will learn to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer. (Microsoft Access is not included in this class.) Students will build communication skills and learn about the job search, including setting goals, preparing resumes and cover letters, interviewing, and dressing appropriately. Prerequisites: Computer Keyboarding and Introduction to Personal Computers or similar experience. 48 hrs.

This introduction to digital photography will provide training instructions on the use of the digital camera and the fundamentals of digital photography. Download and manipulate digital photos into the Photoshop Elements application. Turn your photos into art!
