Build Basic Skills
Wake Tech has one of the state’s largest basic skills programs, providing high school equivalency preparation (Adult High School and GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Compensatory Education for adults with intellectual disabilities. Courses are offered on multiple campuses and at convenient community sites, and many are available online. We offer several options for brushing up on basic skills and earning credits to complete your high school education.
English as a Second Language (ESL)

Improve your skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing English. ESL classes can help you prepare to find a job, advance professionally, and become more involved in neighborhood and community life.
Compensatory Education (CED)

These courses and programs are designed specifically for adults 18 years of age and older with developmental disabilities. CED serves students who may not have attended or completed public school or who need additional educational opportunities and support.
